BIG TREE? TIGHT SPACE?
WE'VE GOT IT.
Removals, pruning, and stump grinding by a trained, fully insured crew that protects your property on every job.
BIG TREES. TIGHT SPACES.
TAKEN DOWN SAFELY.
From a single dead tree to a giant oak over the house, trained climbers and proper rigging bring it down piece by piece, with your home, lawn, and landscaping protected.
- Dead and hazard trees
- Crane-assisted removals
- Trees over homes and fences
- Complete cleanup, hauled away
How long does a tree removal take?
Anywhere from 15 minutes to 8 hours, depending on the size of the tree and what's around it. Your estimate will tell you how long your job should take.
Will my lawn or landscaping get damaged?
We always work carefully, and for full peace of mind we offer our Pro Protection Package: plywood protection over the ground in the work area and full rigging, so no logs or limbs drop and put holes in your lawn. Pricing is per tree, and we'll include it as an option on your estimate.
Can I keep the wood chips?
For sure. We can't split a load, so it's all or nothing: you get every chip from the job, dumped where you want it.
What happens to the wood?
By default, we haul all the wood away. Want to keep it for firewood? We'll skip hauling the wood and buck the logs into firewood-length rounds for you instead, and leave them on site.
PRUNED RIGHT.
BY THE STANDARD.
Proper pruning removes weight and risk while keeping your tree's natural shape. All of our pruning follows the ANSI A300 pruning standards, so every cut is made to help the tree heal and grow strong.
- Total tree pruning
- End weight reduction
- Deadwood removal
- Elevation pruning
- Clearance pruning
- Complete cleanup, every job

When is the best time to prune?
Late fall through winter, while trees are dormant. With the leaves off we can see the structure, and it's easier on the tree.
How often should my trees be pruned?
Most trees do best with pruning every 2 to 3 years. Young trees benefit from more frequent structural pruning, and mature trees can often go a little longer. We'll recommend a schedule for your trees during your free estimate.
Why don't you top trees?
Topping causes weak, fast regrowth that breaks easily in storms and invites decay. Proper reduction cuts lower risk without damaging the tree.

THAT STUMP ISN'T GOING ANYWHERE.
UNLESS YOU CALL US.
We grind stumps below grade so you can mow over the spot, replant, or plant grass. No more tripping hazards or mower damage.
- Single stumps or whole yards
- Ground 6–8 inches below grade
- Utilities marked first
- Free with any removalUp to 10″ diameter
What happens to the grindings?
By default, we rake the grindings into a neat pile where the stump was. Want them hauled away and the spot finished with topsoil, grass seed and straw? Ask about our premium stump grinding.
Can I plant a tree or grass afterward?
Yes. We often plant a replacement tree right after a removal, so ask about our tree replacement options. If you'd rather have grass, our premium stump grinding hauls the grindings away, fills the spot with topsoil, overseeds it, and covers it with straw.
Do you mark utility lines first?
Yes. Turner Tree Works submits the Virginia 811 request ourselves before every grind, so underground utilities are marked and the job is fully covered by our liability insurance.

DON'T TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT.
We had Turner Tree Works out to remove two trees and trim another that had branches extending over our house.
One of the trees was a large oak located very close to the house, with an internet cable running along the adjacent side, making it a particularly technical removal. The crew handled the work with ease and without issue.
They left the site exceptionally clean, removed all debris, and completed the work with minimal impact to the property. We were very pleased with the quality of their work and would not hesitate to recommend Turner Tree Works to others.
Ian came to give his estimate within 48 hours of originally calling him. I actually had two estimates done that morning and Turner Tree works not only were more affordable, but they actually had the equipment to complete the entire project where the other company only had really large chippers that could not get into our fence.
We were charged a minimal down payment to get on their calendar and we’re charged after the work was done and we were satisfied. I received multiple texts, reminding me of my appointment and letting me know if any updates as well.
The morning the job was getting completed, a five person crew showed up at 8 AM sharp and was done and probably 90 minutes. This includes 4 large trees and 7 extra stumps. Everything looks beautiful and they cleaned up before leaving. Ian even called at the end of the day to make sure everything was what we expected.
I would HIGHLY recommend them. Every worker was nice and professional.
Our neighbors got their trees cut back & we decided to have one of our trees removed the same day as well. The team was quick, efficient and payment was easy. Will defiantly hire them again!
